The Robert F. Furchgott Society

The Robert F. Furchgott Medical Student Research Award

To qualify for this award, applicants must have conducted research while a medical student at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of the scientific merit of their research and the research achievements of the student, as determined by the reviewing members of the Robert F. Furchgott Medical Student Award Committee. Only MS4 students are eligible for the award.

Nominations require:

  1. A letter from the research advisor describing the applicant's role in designing, executing, and interpreting the results of the project.
  2. An abstract describing the research project (no more than 250 words)
  3. The applicant's curriculum vitae

Selected applicants will present a 15-minute oral presentation to members of the Robert F. Furchgott Review Committee in early April 2016.

The application package must be electronically submitted as a single PDF file to by Monday, March 28, 2016 at 5 PM.
