The Robert F. Furchgott Society

The Robert F. Furchgott Medical Student Research Award

To qualify for this award, applicants must have conducted research while a medical student at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of the scientific merit of their research, as determined by the reviewing members of the Robert F. Furchgott Medical Student Award Committee.


Nominations require:

  1. A letter from the research advisor describing the applicant's role in designing, executing, and interpreting the results of the project.
  2. An abstract describing the research project (no more than 250 words)
  3. The applicant's curriculum vitae
  4. Selected applicants will present a 15-minute oral presentation to members the Robert F. Furchgott Review Committee in April 2013.

The application package must be electronically submitted as a single PDF file to RFFS@downstate.edu by March 29, 2013
