Physician Assistant Program

The SUNY Downstate Physician Assistant Program is a member of the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA).

The faculty are fellow members of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) as well as New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA).

PA students are introduced to the role and responsibilities of the professional associations and are required to be members of the Student Association of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (SAAAPA) during the senior year. The faculty view membership and active participation in the activities of professional associations, as an opportunity to impact the direction and future of the PA profession. Faculty and students are encouraged to participate in the activities of the professional associations at the national, state and local levels.
