Clinical Practice:

Has over 24 years of clinical practice in the areas of Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, including the last 15 years as a PA in a Neurosurgery Service.


He joined the SUNY Downstate Medical Center Physician Assistant program in 1997 as a part-time faculty. He is responsible for the leadership and academic administration of the program, including budget management, faculty development, curriculum planning and evaluation, student admissions, and outcome assessment. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the clinical curriculum, coordination of student learning activities including clinical supervision of students, principal classroom instruction in Clinical Decision Making, Interviewing and Physical Diagnosis, Adult Primary Care Medicine, and Clinical Procedures/Skills, Issues of Professional Practice. He is also responsible for managing student admissions, mentorship and student advisement and participating in college and campus-wide committees and liaising with all of the program's professional constituents. He also manages all aspects of the programs continuous self-assessment and accreditation processes.
