Review course for the NBCOT Certification Examination for Occupational Therapists at SUNY Downstate, Brooklyn, New York
The Occupational Therapy Program at SUNY Downstate has offered an annual weekend review course for the OTR Certification Examination for the past 23 years. This intensive 2-day course prepares students to succeed in all domains covered in the NBCOT Exam. Participants receive extensive self-study packets and attend problem-solving oriented lecture sessions with audiovisual aids and opportunities to discuss review questions with faculty. Application of NBCOT domains and content areas to occupational therapy practice in: pediatrics, geriatrics, psychosocial settings, physical rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation. Population-based services are discussed within the context of each practice setting. Extensive handouts include both multiple choice and case simulation practice questions.
Sessions include:

• Study tips and tips for organizing information for successful performance on NBCOT exam questions.
We offer this review course one time each year, in January. Our last review course, on January 24th and 25th, 2009 was well attended by graduates from several occupational therapy programs.

Registration information and application forms are posted approximately six weeks prior to each review course. Since attendance is limited to 60 participants, we recommend early registration.
