Professor Sabel's clinical expertise is in adult physical rehabilitation with interests in neurological rehabilitation, cognition and geriatrics. He holds advanced certifications in the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills and the Arnadottir OT-ADL Neurobehavioral Evaluation (A-ONE). In addition, he is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner, and incorporates Feldenkrais, yoga, breath therapy and other complementary and alternative interventions into occupational therapy practice. Professor Sabel maintains a private clinical practice and leads groups related to posture, balance, movement, pain management and pulmonary rehab at Beth Israel Medical Center's Karpas Community Health Center and their outpatient cardiopulmonary program. Professor Sabel is an active participant in occupational therapy professional organizations, and has held significant leadership positions in the New York State Occupational Therapy Association. He teaches the following courses: Physical Rehabilitation and Geriatrics, Designing Therapeutic Environments, and Activities of Daily Living.
