Dr. Elenko's clinical expertise is primarily in the treatment of infants and young children and their families in early intervention settings. She is an approved individual provider for the New York State Department of Health. She presently has a private practice treating children birth to five years of age in their homes. She also has extensive experience with pediatric populations in a variety of settings including home, hospital and school-based practice areas. She is trained in Neurodevelopmental treatment with children. Her research focuses on family-centered early intervention practice in occupational therapy. Publications include textbook chapters. She served as the Associate Director of the Early Intervention Certification Program for Occupational Therapists (EICP-OT), a federally funded educational program at SUNY Downstate for licensed occupational therapists who plan to specialize in therapeutic intervention for young children and their families from 2003-2008. Dr. Elenko is currently the Associate Director of the Early Intervention Specialization Program (EISP), a federally funded educational program at SUNY Downstate for currently enrolled entry-level occupational therapy students to provide advanced training working with young children and their families.
