Midwifery Education ProgramOn-line Courses
The following courses can be found at the Educational Computing & Technology site.Distance Learning Courses: (Students are required to attend one on campus day at the beginning of each online course.)
All of the remaining midwifery courses are web enhanced. Recommended minimum computing platform for accessing PRIME distance learning courses from home:Windows: A computer with at least 1 Gb Ram (2 Gb Ram recommended), running Windows XP (Home or Pro edition), Vista or Windows 7. At least 100 Mb of free hard drive space is recommended. Apple: A computer with 1 Gb Ram (2 Gb Ram recommended), running OS X operating system. At least 100 Mb of free hard drive space is recommended. Internet Connection: A dial-up phone modem is not recommended. “Broadband” connections such as cable, DSL, fiber optic or satellite will prove more satisfactory. Security: Users are strongly urged to purchase/maintain licensed antiviral & internet security software from major vendors such as McAfee, Symantec or Trend Micro. Users running Microsoft Windows should choose the “automatic” option for Windows Update, which keeps user machines secure by periodically updating key operating system files as they are released by Microsoft.. Web Browsers: Internet Explorer versions 7.x or 8.x (Windows), Firefox version 13.x (Windows, Apple). Apple users, please note that Safari, the Apple web browser, is not compatible for use with our online course software; please use Firefox 13.x.
