Midwifery Education ProgramContinuing EducationLegal Aspects of Prescriptive Authority:COURSE DESCRIPTION: This online course provides the legal basis for prescriptive authority through distance learning. An online exam will be offered upon completion of the home study material. This offering meets the New York State requirements for obtaining prescriptive authority by those candidates who have already completed a 45 hour pharmacology course. Course cost: $100.00 Students will receive a certificate of completion after successfully completing the examination. Those students who require additional verification of course completion for New York State midwifery licensure must forward the required New York State Department of Education form to the Midwifery Education Program and include a $15.00 check payable to SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
