In 2005 the President Donald Scherl Award Recipient was Grace Holmes, CNM, LM, MS. Professor Holmes has consistently demonstrated her commitment to higher education since becoming a faculty member in 1990. She is a quiet force within the College, a dedicated classroom instructor, clinical educator, practicing clinician and student advocate. Professor Holmes consistently strives to create effective and memorable educational experiences for students. She serves the Brooklyn community, providing health education and screening interventions for a number of local community-based organizations, health facilities and public schools and is actively involved in her professional organization. Throughout her tenure, she has served on a number of committees, most recently chairing the Clinical Coordinators Committee. This dedicated faculty member epitomizes the role of faculty through her consistent support of students.
