In 2005 the President Donald Scherl Award Recipient was Grace Holmes, CNM, LM, MS. Professor Holmes consistently demonstrated her commitment to higher education since becoming a faculty member in 1990. She was a quiet force within the College, a dedicated classroom instructor, clinical educator, practicing clinician and student advocate until her retirement in 2007. Professor Holmes consistently strived to create effective and memorable educational experiences for students. She served the Brooklyn community, providing health education and screening interventions for a number of local community-based organizations, health facilities and public schools and is actively involved in her professional organization. Throughout her tenure, she served on a number of committees, most recently chairing the Clinical Coordinators Committee. This dedicated faculty member epitomized the role of faculty through her consistent support of students.
